Shredding an RFP
The Shred tab breaks a solicitation into requirements, Section L instructions, and Section M evaluation criteria — and flags the red flags.
The short answer
Shred decomposes an RFP into atomic requirements, Section L instructions to offerors, and Section M evaluation criteria. It flags red flags and compound shalls (a single 'shall' with multiple obligations buried inside). Works on any SAM.gov notice you open and on any RFP you upload. Costs 1 credit on metered plans.
How to run it
Open a notice into its workspace. Go to the Shred tab and run it. Output is a structured breakdown you can review inline and export into the compliance matrix in one click.
What it catches that a manual read misses
- Compound shalls buried in a run-on sentence.
- Cross-references between Sections C, L, and M that create hidden obligations.
- Format constraints in Section L (page counts, font sizes, tab order) that get proposals thrown out at the gate.
- Evaluation weightings in Section M that don't match where you're planning to spend your effort.
